Encore Networks Unveils Ultra-Low Cost CAT1 LTE Router
Optimized Specifically for M2M and IoT Devices on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network
Chantilly, VA - September 9, 2015 - Encore Networks, a leading manufacturer of wireline and cellular VPN routers, today announced the launch of the EN-1000™, a high performance Catagory 1 (CAT1) wireless network router developed for the Verizon LTE network.
The EN-1000™ provides an ultra-low cost broadband connection with room for future growth; data rates are many times the speed of the sun setting 2G. Ideal M2M and IoT applications include;
- Business Continuity / Branch Back-up
- Transportation, i.e., traffic lights, counters, road signs
- Retail Point-of-Sale
- Security Panels
- 2G Application Replacement
- Utilities, oil, gas, water, solar
- Distributed Enterprise
The EN-1000™ is the industry's first CAT1 router to be certified compliant for use on the nationwide Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. Advanced chip technology reduces the cost for CAT1 service by recognizing the 10 Mbit/s (5 Mbit/s up) speed cap.
"Today, the M2M and IoT devices market is growing faster than traditional 3G/LTE markets with no signs of slowing down," said Peter Madsen, CEO for Encore Networks. "As momentum grows for LTE and CAT1 technologies, Encore will keep pace as these connections require a low-cost, low-power, high-performance router like the EN-1000."
Designed for the Internet of Things, this compact IP M2M router includes in every model a license free protocol suite for IP, VPN, Firewall, Ethernet and IP Interworking. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity (failover/failback) are standard. The router supports failover by detecting network failures and seamlessly switches to LTE or WAN as programmed via multiple VPN tunnels and VLAN support. It is remotely manageable via standard SNMP workstations or a cloud management service to help maintain reliable communications.
The EN-1000™ supports traditional broadband and Cellular WAN data networks including DSL, cable, and Ethernet. For existing 2G applications facing transport extinction the EN-1000™ provides a future proof upgrade avoiding the 'forklift upgrade' at lowest cost and fastest ROI. The MSRP for the EN-1000™ is $199. The standard EN-2000™ dealer/distributor tiered discount structure will apply.
This announcement coincides with the CTIA Super Mobility Expo held at the Sands in Las Vegas, September 9-11. See Encore Networks (Booth #5738) in the M2M Pavilion.
